Pasquale Biele

Pascquale (or Patrick) emigrated from Italy and settled in northern New Jersey. Data on him and his family members are sprinkled throughout the Biele Records section.


I pieced together a great deal of the information on this family from newspaper obituaries and have tried to tie it together with the census and other records.


Pasquale is listed in the 1930 US Census as Patrick Biele, 33, of Wallington, New Jersey. Family members listed include a wife, Jennie (shown elsewhere as Giovannina), 22, a son Angelo, 3, a daughter Mary, 2, and a son Patrick, 6 months.

According to the Social Security records Pasquale was born June 11, 1895 and died December 1971 and Giovannina was born March 22, 1906 and died September 5, 1988. The following obituary gives an overview of the family:

GIOVANNINA GUARENTE BIELE, 82, of Waldwick died Sunday. She was a parishioner of St. Luke's R.C. Church, Ho-Ho-Kus. Surviving are two sons, Angelo of Waldwick and Anthony of Destin, Fla.; four daughters, Mary Carfello and Carmelina Biele, both of Waldwick, Josephine DelVecchio of Totowa, and Luci Tucci of Pompton Lakes; a brother, Anthony Guarente of the Bronx; 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Her husband, Pasquale, and a son, Patsy, died in 1971. Mass will be said Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Luke's Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visiting will be tonight from 7 to 9 and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at John J. Feeney & Sons Funeral Home, Ridgewood.
