August Biele died Friday, May 26, 1922 at his home near Senate Grove. Mr. Biele had been in failing health for the past year. He had reached the age of 74 years and 17 days.


The deceased was born at Senate Grove May 10, 1948. He spent his entire life in that community, following the occupation of farming. On April 21, 1871, he was married to Mrs. Marlinde Louise (Tugel) Niemann and to their union one child was born, Emily Biele, now of Boise, Idaho. Louise died on February 4, 1874. On May 2, 1878, he was united in marriage to Miss Lowine Kemper and to their union a daughter, Lydia (now Mrs. Frank Alberswerth, Jr.) was born. Mr. and Mrs. Biele also adopted and reared a child, Oliver Biele of New Haven.


Mr. Biele was a good citizen, a hard worker and was very successful in his life work. He was a conscientious church worker and early in life was confirmed in the Bethany Evangelical Church at Big Berger. When the Methodist church at Senate Grove was built he joined that denomination and was a faithful member until death. He took an active interest in the Sunday School work of the church.


Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Senate Grove church by Rev. Pruell of Berger and Rev. Koewig of Balwin, and interment was in the church cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife; two daughters, Emily Biele and Mrs. Frank Alberswerth; one brother, Henry Biele of Chanute, Kansas; one step-son, Milton Niemann of Lewisville, Texas, one adopted son Oliver Biele, of New Haven; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lowine Biele, nee Kemper, widow of the late August Biele died suddenly Sunday at her home near Senate Grove, aged 81 years and 9 months.


Born near Berger in 1857, Mrs. Biele on May 2, 1878 became the wife of August Biele, the marriage being blessed with one child. Mrs. Biele also mothered two step-children and an adopted son. She was a faithful member of the Senate Grove M.E. Church, Sunday school and Ladies Aid. Mr. Biele died 16 years ago.


Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Frank Alberswerth, a step-daughter, Miss Emily Biele of San Francisco, an adopted son, Oliver Biele of Hermann, her brother Christ. Kemper of Bushton, Kans., five grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.


Funeral services were conducted Wednesday by Rev. W. Dahlem at the Frank Alberswerth home and in the Senate Grove M.E. Church, burial being in the church cemetery.
